Yoko + Roman

LOVE IN EVERY LANGUAGE

Light-hearted vows + high-energy dancing

Yoko and Roman met through a mutual friend when she traveled from Boston to NYC during spring break. The pair wanted to get married in New York since they live here, they “LOVE” the city and they appreciate the convenience of its location. On their wedding wish list: Offering guests quality food, hosting the ceremony and reception in one place and maintaining “great vibes” throughout. Eventi delivered in every category. When the duo first visited the venue, they were greeted by Chelsea, who they deem flexible, patient and on top of everything. They also loved working with Sylvia Weinstock on their wedding cake. Yoko gushes that, after such a happy wedding at Eventi, she still gets little butterflies every time she passes by.

Memorable Details

Many of the couple’s friends and family members live across the globe—in destinations from Tokyo and London. They felt “overwhelmingly happy” to receive friends from so many spots, near and far.

“We are so glad that we chose Eventi, and we would like to make it back on our anniversary every year!”

The couple says that Eventi has now become part of their history; it feels like home every time they stop in for dinner or a drink.

Since the couple had officially gotten married the previous year, they had their good friend Andy casually officiate the wedding. They kept the mood light with comical vows like: “Do you, Yoko, promise to close all drawers and not use every empty surface as new storage space?” “Do you, Roman, promise to feed her chocolate or ice cream or French fries when she is so cranky?”

The couple’s first dance was to Justin Timberlake’s “Can’t Stop the Feeling!” Their friends joined toward the end, and then the party really started. The pair “enjoyed every minute” of the dancing. A surprise highlight? Seeing Yoko’s parents dance while holding hands (something Yoko had never before seen).
