Joachim & Veronica

REAL WEDDINGS BY KIMPTON HOTEL EVENTI

Norwegian nuptials in New York

When Joachim proposed to Veronica at the Top of the Rock (Rockefeller Center's observation deck), he had no idea her "yes" would bring them back to New York on their big day. But while planning the wedding in their hometown of Oslo, Norway, the couple loved the idea of exchanging vows in the city where they became engaged.

Memorable Details

An intimate wedding party of 22 celebrants made their way to East 52nd Street for a ceremony at Norwegian Seamen's Church. A traditional ceremony by a Norwegian priest ensued. Veronica's brother escorted her down the aisle while a string trio and piano played Johann's Pachelbel's "Canon in D." As the newly minted husband and wife departed the church, "What a Wonderful World" by Louis Armstrong wafted through the air.

A cocktail reception amid blue skies and summer breezes

Guests were smitten with the sweeping views. As for dinner in the intimate Screening Room, "The three-course meal was perfection!" reports the bride. The party continued in the 1,400-square-foot Eventi Suite with its dramatic library wall and floor-to-ceiling windows.

"We had one criterion: Rooftop wedding."
